Rabbi Laurie Green leads. After services, Andrew Hanauer, Jubilee USA Campaigns Director, will speak.
Andrew Hanauer, who was originally scheduled to speak in December, is Campaigns Director at Jubilee USA. Jubilee USA is a coalition of faith, labor, environmental and human rights groups working to end the structural causes of global poverty. In his role as Campaign Director, Andrew represents Jubilee in policy meetings with the White House, Congress, the International Monetary Fund and with partner organizations, NGOs and faith communities.
In his time at Jubilee, Andrew has increased the organization’s primary faith network 18 percent and forged key partnerships with important faith leaders. Those leaders include Rabbi Sharon Brous, who was ranked as the nation’s most influential rabbi by Newsweek and who was selected to give the opening prayer at President Obama’s 2013 Inaugural Prayer Service. Andrew has successfully recruited Episcopal, Catholic, Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, UCC and Conservative, Reform, and non-denominational Jewish congregations into Jubilee’s network.
Andrew has a decade of experience working for the common good. He has worked for three Presidential campaigns, the Environmental Defense Fund and serves on the Board of Directors of a charitable organization that funds school fees for poor children in East Africa. In 2010, Andrew directed a green-job-training program for poor communities in California that was featured in Mother Jones magazine.
Andrew holds a bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College and a Master's in International Studies from the University of San Francisco.
