Board of Directors


The work of the congregation is carried out by a board of directors and a host of committees. The president and three at-large directors are elected annually; four vice-presidents, the secretary, and the treasurer are elected for two-year terms.

Provides support to non-religious educational and cultural programming not covered by the VP Religious Affairs; oversight of the Education Committee, Book Group, Visiting Scholars, DC Pride, Shabbatons, Congregational Dinners, Brunch Studies, cultural activities such as theater or museum events, and other programs established to support sub-groups of the congregation such as women, young adults, families and founders.

Board Member At-Large 2:  (Congregational Services and Affairs) Eileen Greenberg ..... bmal2@betmish.org

Provides support to individuals and families in times of need, such as bereavement support and Bikur Cholim, and support to the congregation's spiritual fitness through social action/social justice, art and design, and liaison with the Havurot.

Board Member At-Large 3: (Community Affairs) Eytan Apelberg .... bmal3@betmish.org

Builds relationships and coordinates Bet Mishpachah participation with other Gay or Jewish organizations in the community.  These include, but are not limited to, the Jewish Community Council, Jewish Federation, World Congress, Jewish Funeral Practices Committee, Interfaith activities, GLOE and Gayim.
